Convert PDF Files - With the built in PDF converter you can open and translate pdf files in MS Word. Simply install the software on your computer. Right-click the PDF file you want to translate from Windows Explorer or from a PDF link in Internet Explorer™. Change the translation options if necessary, and select the desired language pair. A Rich Text Format file (.rtf) containing your translation is created.

Premium gives you additional tools that allow you to train the software to handle your specific terminology, phrases and sentences. Already packed with 20 additional dictionaries, giving you access to industry specific terms and jargon but now you can increase the accuracy even more with document review tools. Search for ambiguities or sentence structure problems before translation. The software gives you an easy to use alert box that lets you control the part of speech for may words that it not sure on the usage you intended. In the past it took a linguist to really control areas of text but with these new tools the software helps to guide you.

Easy to use Highlighters allow you to mark sections of text. Set the software to mark Not Found Words and transfer it to your Customer Specific User Dictionary where you can manually control the translation output. This new color coding makes it easy to identify different sections.

Translation Memory (TM)
Translation memory is a term used to describe a larger type of translation dictionary that you can build. Think of it like a database that lets you store previously translated sentences and phrases and reuse them. Using Translation Memory to offer suggestions to sentences that either exactly match or are slightly different to those in previous translations. The next time you translate a document with that phrase or sentence it will let you choose the stored version or you can edit a new one. Human translators use translation memory tools a lot to not only provide consistent translations but speed up the translation process.

Translation Sentence Review
This is an invaluable tool that can greatly increase the accuracy of a translation by alerting you to ambiguities in a document. For example there are many words that can be spelled the same but have a different meaning, "ship" can be a noun or verb, a ship on the ocean or, to ship a package. If there is any question on word usage then this handy tool will pop up a list of words and let you choose how you want to use it in the sentence. You would be surprised how many times this tool will make the difference in translation results.

Normalization Dictionary
SYSTRAN Professional Premium only: NDs provide a way to normalize source text before translation or normalize target text after translation. For example, terms like "4u" that are used in chat-type environments can be defined as "for you." You can also use NDs to standardize spellings. If your company uses the term "online" instead of "on-line," for example, you can use the ND to ensure that the appropriate instance of "online" is used.
